Day 2

There is not much to report today. Got up this morning and the bright orange sun was peeking through the stained glass window. The day was clear and in the 70s and I 80 is fairly flat and in fair to good condition. We did stop at the I 8o Iowa Truck Stop, the largest in the world with 900 semi parking spots. It has a store, restaurant, food court, clothing and a couple of semis on display inside along with the most amount of chrome and accessories on display I have ever seen. After 284 miles we are currently at a KOA near De Moines, IA.  After a taco salad dinner we went for our 30 minute walk.

Day 1, June 29, 2015

We left home this morning about 5:30 am and traveled 439 miles today with on and off rain and pleasant temperatures. The new truck performed well and we were pleased. We are in Utica, IL watching the weather as there are tornado warnings just north west of us moving east. It does look like it will pass us by and we are watching.
Karen and I got our 30 minute walk in between sprinkles. We were going to cook out but it started to rain so we moved inside. It is a little breezy and did not want to put the awning out. I have medications that need to be taken at certain hour so we are adjusting the time taken as we travel into different time zones.

The rain stopped after dinner and we went outside to watch the sky!

Getting ready for 2015 travels

This year we are headed for the Northern California Redwoods and Oregon's Crater Lake, Mount Hood and more, then meander our way home. We are traveling this year in our new tow vehicle, a 2015 Platinum  F350 diesel dually.
We will be leaving June 29 and return August 24.
