Day 24 7/22
We finished our drive across Oregon to Baker City,
OR, this is one beautiful state. The drive was on a very good state route, one
of the best roads we have been on. After we set up the trailer I had to make an
appointment with a dentist for tomorrow to take care of a toothache, not what
we had planned but we have three nights here and will still have time to sight-see.
Day 23
This morning Don and
I took a drive back into the park and was able to get some better pictures of
Crater Lake because of the light. Karen and I then drove 130 miles to
Prinville, OR then another 100 miles round trip to the John Day Fossil Beds
National Monument, Painted Hills Unit. It is a small area but we both agreed it
was worth the drive. There is still no internet and limited phone service.
Day 22
We arrived at the
campground near Crater Lake around noon then took the drive around the lake.
WOW! I don’t remember ever seeing water that blue. We stopped at several pull
outs to view the lake and volcano and decided to come back for a few more shots
the next morning to get better light.
It sure is
beautiful and Karen got another National Park patch to add to her collection
for her scrap-booking. No internet today.

Day 21
Our last day at the
rally was relaxing as we said goodbye to those leaving. We leave on Monday for
Crater Lake National Park and start our journey back to Ohio with more
sightseeing along the way as well as two more rallies. We will be attending the
Manufactures Rally in Goshen, IN where they have presentations, meals and free
repairs to your unit, I have a list! Then we will be off to Frankenmuth, MI for
our Mid-West Rally. It is a little cooler today only 101°. Stay tuned more to
come!
Day 20
It is a hot one
today; our thermometer is sitting at 107°, it was 55° when we got up this
morning. You set a schedule well in advance of an activity like these rallies
and today, our hottest day we had a chili cook off, oh well! The chilies were
great then we held our 50/50 raffle; we won a $100 Wal-Mart gift card. There
was also a white elephant gift exchange which was fun.

Day 19
The Wildlife Safari
in Winston, OR was our adventure for today. It was an interesting journey as we
drove through the various areas with the animals walking on and across your
path. At times we had Bison and other large animals stopped on the road and you
just had to wait for them to move. It
was about an hour and a half drive and we thoroughly enjoyed it as we watched
the animals interact with each other as well as some of the motorist. In the
evening back at the campground we had an ice cream social.

Days 17 & 18
We moved to a new
location in Canyonville OR. We are going to be here at the rally relaxing and
visiting with other club members. We have morning coffee klatches and evening
functions usually around a meal. Weather is in the 60s in the morning and 90s
during the day but fairly comfortable. Yesterday (day 18, 7/16) The Cardinal
manufacture reps had a new trailer here on display and had some informational
talks as well as answered may questions from club members. They took the time
to visit trailers that were having problems and offered suggestions and service
to address them. Our unit is one that needs some repair that will be done for
free when we get to the next rally in Goshen IN.
