Our journey continues after five months in Eloy Arizona. The last month was quiet as we continued our walking and waiting to start traveling again. Our friends left on Monday March 26 and we left Saturday March 31 and traveled to Quartzsite Arizona on our way to Twentynine Palms California traveling two short days. We arrived at 29 Palms on Easter Sunday April 1, we were disappointed that we missed church but have not found one that we were comfortable in so we read our Bibles and pray.

Our stop for lunch , a desert  pull off!

Monday, we went into the Joshua Tree National Park in the Mojave Desert and enjoyed the day driving through and taking a couple of walks among the trees and huge boulders.  At Key’s View we could look across the desert and see Palm Springs, well at least we could see where it is. The Joshua Tree only grows at a very specific elevation and nowhere else which makes this place very special.

Just in front of the distant mountain is Palm Springs

We made another trip into the park today for some more exploring. Our first stop was the Cholla Cactus Garden. What a beautiful interesting place, this garden has thousands of densely concentrated naturally growing cholla cacti. As we entered the trail there was a girl maybe in her 20s with a piece of the cacti stuck to her arm and a guy was trying to carefully dislodge it, OUCH! The entrance sign has warnings about the cacti. Well we did not touch but enjoyed our walk.

Our second stop was a trail around Skull Rock and through the boulder piles and desert washes. It was hard to believe the size of these boulders, an interesting walk, comfortable temperature about 75 and slightly overcast.

Yep we are enjoying our travels.
