We arrived in Ohio at Cutty’s Sunset RV Resort in Louisville
which will become our Ohio summer home. Before we left we were assigned a new
site for next spring and are excited about it. It was great to spend some time
with family, friends and church for a while, even though we are enjoying our
adventure we miss these wonderful folks.
We departed Ohio on October 1 and headed for Fort Wilderness
at Walt Disney World. Along the way we were searching for our 2019 winter home,
looking in southern Georgia and Florida. We did find a campground in White Springs
Florida and put down a deposit for next year.
We had a great stay at Disney and had a nice campsite, however
we picked the wrong week, it was packed. The time was right for our travels but
it was the International Food and Wine Festival at Epcot and the Halloween Spooktacular
at Magic Kingdom. We had a couple of fast passes and other times we just waited
for things we wanted to see. The highlight was The Flight of Passage in Pandora
Land. Karen wasn’t sure she wanted to do it because 360 views and 3D bothers
her. Well she went and I looked over at her and she had the biggest smile and
was whooping and awing the whole time, we did not want it to end and will surely
go back again.
We departed and headed West to Eloy, AZ for the winter. We
stopped for a few days in Albuquerque, NM and when we visited Old Town, which
we enjoyed and had a very nice lunch sitting at an outdoor patio.
Upon returning
to the truck we found the passenger window broken out and security officers all
around. Some one had broken into several vehicles. Other than the broken window
and some scratches on the interior trim the truck was OK. They took the tray
from the center console with a few dollars in change and all of my camera equipment
from the floor of the back seat, OUCH! I picked up a sheet of acrylic and cut a
temporary window until we get to Eloy and have the window replaced.
We continued our journey to Holbrook, AZ and visited the
Petrified National Park and Painted Desert. We had a wonderful day and enjoyed
yet another diverse landscape. The park is full of history and archeological sites.
There was something inspiring as we walked some of the sites and stood at
various view points in awe of the landscape. Even though I lost my camera the phone camera is
a good substitute!
