Day 48

After breakfast we drove 45 miles to the Eagle River Nature Center in the Chugach State Park north of Anchorage and took a 3 mile hike which crossed through a marsh creek and boreal forest. The creek had nice pathways and viewing decks to see salmon and beaver dams. The trail is closed August to November to allow bears to fish for salmon. This was the longest walk/hike I have taken since my knee replacement and the more I walked the better it felt. I guess that means more walking the rest of the trip.

These exhibits were along the trail.

Karen said these Queen Ann Lace were so big they were Prehistoric!
