The Old Savannah Trolley Tour was today. A shuttle picked us
up at the campground and transported us to the trolley location. The total tour
is 90 minutes but you can get on and off all day. The drivers all have the same
script so even though you have different drivers, the narration stays the same.
This was a good way you get a feel for the city. We got on and off a couple of
times then had a good lunch at the Pirates’ House said to be the oldest house
in Georgia built in 1734. We then walked along the riverfront, then back into
the old historic Savannah district. The Southern Live Oaks, the state tree, is
what makes this city so unique in addition the architecture. We were told that
the more iron around the house the wealthier the owner. The city is filled with park squares with
fountains and monuments. Well worth the visit.
